Biography

For Scott Peerenboom, D.O., a Hill Health internal medicine doctor in Oakland, working with patients to prevent illness is key to his practice. “I really enjoy helping people be proactive about their health and preventing problems before they start”. Dr. Peerenboom is a big proponent of exercise to prevent health conditions and disease, to control weight and to boost energy. And he practices what he preaches. A self-proclaimed sports fanatic, he enjoys playing and watching basketball, soccer, and many other sports. “I’ll play anything.” As an internal medicine specialist, Dr. Peerenboom finds fulfillment in the challenges of caring for patients across the spectrum from wellness to complex conditions. He especially likes collaborating with other providers on difficult or puzzling diagnostic cases that require other opinions. “I enjoy synthesizing multiple opinions to arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan for a patient.” Besides his love of sports, his top priority is being a dedicated father to his three children.
